Tuskegee Airmen steps up in Remsen; Julia Shining, Royal Spa among seven in Demoiselle

Tuskegee Airmen
has opened his racing pair with a pair of convincing wins, crushing maiden rivals
at Parx before rolling to a 3 1/4-length victory in the one-mile Rocky Run S.
at Delaware Park on Oct. 15, and the promising two-year-old colt will put his
unbeaten record on the line when he squares off against six opponents in
Saturday’s $250,000 Remsen S. (G2) at Aqueduct.

The 1 1/8-mile race serves as a Kentucky Derby (G1) qualifier,
awarding points on a 10-4-3-2-1 basis to the top five finishers. One race
earlier on the program, two-year-old fillies will compete for a combined 20
points toward a bid in the 2023 Kentucky Oaks (G1) in the $250,000 Demoiselle
(G2) at 1 1/8 miles.

A son of 2007 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense, Tuskegee
Airmen is conditioned by John Servis, who won the 2004 Kentucky Derby with
Smarty Jones. The bay colt has rallied from off the pace to capture both starts,
and Luis Saez will be up.

Arctic Arrogance,
a 4 1/2-length scorer over New York-bred foes in the Oct. 30 Sleepy Hollow at
Aqueduct, will make his first start against open rivals. A gray son of Frosted,
the Linda Rice-trained colt will show early speed with Irad Ortiz Jr.

to Accuse are also part of the mix. Prove
Right exits a third in the Nashua (G3), and Gulfstream Park maiden winner Il Miracolo and Dubyuhnell, a 2 1/2-length victor in an off-the-turf maiden at
Aqueduct on Oct. 2, complete the field.

In the Demoiselle, Julia
Shining will invade off a flashy debut maiden tally at Keeneland, and Royal Spa merits respect following a
first-out rallying triumph at Churchill Downs.

Seven fillies are set for the Grade 2 event, and the Todd
Pletcher-trained Julia Shining, a sister to Malathaat, will retain the services
of Saez after rallying to win her initial outing going away by nearly three
lengths. Royal Spa, a Rodolphe Brisset-trained Violence filly, will add the
services of Joel Rosario after closing from last for a half-length win.

Other contestants include Foggy Night, runner-up in the Nov. 6 Tempted S. at Aqueduct; New
York-bred stakes winner Gambling Girl;
and Tribal Queen, who rolled to a 2
3/4-length score in an off-the-turf maiden over the track on Oct. 27.
