Thrilled among Pletcher-trained trio in Demoiselle

Trainer Todd Pletcher will start three of the seven juvenile fillies entered in Saturday’s $300,000 Demoiselle (G2) at Aqueduct. The 1 1/8-mile heat is a Road to the Kentucky Oaks scoring race, with 10 Oaks qualifying points going to the winner.

The Pletcher-trained Thrilled, a daughter of two-year-old champion Uncle Mo, will be trying dirt for the first time in the Demoiselle. A debut winner over eventual Jessamine (G3) winner Harmonize at Saratoga, Thrilled finished second to that rival next out in the $100,000 P.G. Johnson and then missed by a nose in the Miss Grillo (G3) at Belmont. 

Last time, in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1), Thrilled broke awkwardly and tracked the pace in fourth before tiring to 11th in the field of 14.

Pletcher also saddles Lost Raven, three-length winner of the $100,000 Smart Halo at Laurel last time after graduating for a $50,000 claiming tag, and Mo d’Amour, another offspring of Uncle Mo who won at first asking less than two weeks ago at the Big A.

Others likely to attract play are Flora Dora, a close second in the Tempted (G3) earlier this month at odds of 10-1, and the Chad Brown-trained Lewis Bay, who dominated maiden rivals by six lengths in her most recent start.
